The latest case, reported by a regional public health authority on December 17, 2025, involves a resident of Montreal. Other regions affected include Lanaudière, the Laurentians, and Laval.

Locations frequented by infected individuals in Montreal and surrounding areas include:

  • Up Centre de services aux urgences pédiatriques, Saint-Eustache (visited on November 28)
  • Clinique de Santé Jeunesse, Boulevard Pierrefonds, Montreal
  • Walmart, Boulevard Langelier, Saint-Léonard
  • Marché Adonis, Boulevard des Roseraies, Anjou
  • Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont, emergency department

People who visited these locations, especially non-immunized individuals, should monitor for symptoms until December 19.

Background and Statistics

This outbreak follows a previous one that occurred between December 2024 and April 2025. Including both outbreaks, close to 40 measles cases have been reported in Quebec since the beginning of the year, according to the Government of Canada.

Who is Considered Unprotected?

Non-protected individuals exposed to measles are advised to isolate at home from the fifth day after initial exposure until the 14th day inclusive after the last exposure. Vaccination and symptom monitoring are strongly recommended.
